I look forward to working with the Board to support strategy, strengthen governance, and help further the professionalism and integrity of the sector.”
In his role as Non-Executive Director, Dan will contribute across several key governance and strategic areas:
• Providing strategic guidance and input to the Board
This involves contributing to high-level discussions on organisational direction, helping shape priorities, and ensuring that strategic initiatives reflect the evolving needs of the cosmetic surgery sector. His input will support the balance between operational delivery and long-term vision.
• Ensuring that BCCS acts in the best interests of the profession
A key focus of the role is maintaining professional integrity and standards. This includes supporting decisions that prioritise patient safety, ethical practice, and the long-term reputation and credibility of cosmetic surgery as a medical discipline.
• Offering expert opinion on strategy development and long-term planning
Dan will contribute insight into the development of organisational strategy, including emerging trends, changes in patient expectations, and broader shifts across aesthetics, healthcare, and digital engagement. This supports informed long-term planning and future-facing decision-making.
• Bringing fresh insight from the industry and other relevant sectors
Drawing on experience from aesthetics, clinic operations, digital communications, and patient education, Dan will bring external perspective into Board discussions. This cross-sector insight helps ensure strategies are grounded in real-world industry dynamics.
• Scrutinising Board decisions and supporting accountability
As part of his governance role, Dan will provide independent review and constructive challenge where appropriate. This includes assessing proposals, supporting evidence-based decision-making, and strengthening transparency and accountability at Board level.
As part of his role, Dan will contribute to Board discussions on strategy, governance, and the long-term direction of the organisation. His appointment reflects ongoing efforts to ensure that professional bodies in cosmetic surgery continue to evolve in line with changes in clinical practice, patient expectations, and the wider aesthetics landscape.
The appointment reflects a wider trend within the aesthetics and cosmetic surgery sector towards integrating industry experience into governance structures. As the sector continues to evolve, organisations are increasingly seeking input from professionals with both clinical and commercial insight to support long-term development and standards.
Dan’s appointment adds a further industry-facing perspective to the BCCS Board at a time of continued focus on professional standards, patient safety, and sector-wide collaboration.
