British Association of Medical Aesthetics Nurses (BAMAN, was BACN) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors following the BAMAN Board Meeting on Wednesday 26 February 2025.The following appointments were confirmed:
BAMAN Chair: Amy Bird
BAMAN Vice-Chair: Alexandra Mills
As Chair, Amy Bird will provide strategic leadership, ensuring BAMAN remains at the forefront of medical aesthetics. She will chair Board meetings, represent BAMAN to key stakeholders and at a range of sector events, and oversee long-term strategic goals for the association.
As Vice-Chair, Alexandra Mills will work closely alongside Amy, supporting governance and strategy implementation, acting as a liaison between the Board, sub-committees, and members, and ensuring BAMAN continues to serve its members effectively.
Both Amy and Alexandra have a long-standing commitment to BAMAN, having previously served as Regional Leaders. They bring a deep understanding of the profession and a passion for advancing standards in medical aesthetic nursing.

Building on this strong foundation, I look forward to engaging with you, hearing your thoughts, and working together to shape the future of our profession—ensuring that we uphold the highest standards of care and ethical practice for both our members and the patients we serve."
Alexandra Mills, BAMAN Vice-Chair, added:
"I am thrilled to take on the role of Vice-Chair at BAMAN and to support Amy and the Board in delivering real value to our members. Thank you to Sharon King for all you achieved as BAMAN’s previous Vice-Chair. Our profession is evolving rapidly, and BAMAN is here to ensure that our nurses are supported, recognised, and equipped for success. I look forward to working closely with you all to make a meaningful impact."
Alongside these key appointments, BAMAN is pleased to welcome Amanda Demosthenous as a co-opted non-executive board member. Amanda brings a wealth of business acumen to the Board and will represent Scotland, ensuring that BAMAN continues to reflect the needs and perspectives of its diverse membership.
BAMAN members will have the opportunity to meet Amy, Alexandra, and the Board of Directors in person at the fourth-annual BAMAN Spring Symposium in London. This sold-out event will provide a chance to engage with BAMAN’s leadership, share insights, and discuss the future of medical aesthetic nursing.
