The British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN), formerly known as the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN), is the largest professional association for nurses providing cosmetic and aesthetic treatments in the UK. With over 1,200 members, BAMAN operates under a strict Code of Conduct to ensure that patient safety is at the heart of all treatments performed by its members.
Since its founding in 2009, BAMAN has remained dedicated to its core values of best practice, clinical excellence, and patient safety. As an association developed by nurses, governed by nurses, and designed to serve nurses, BAMAN plays a vital role in the ongoing professional development of medical aesthetic nurses across the country.
BAMAN serves two primary functions:
Supporting Members: We provide a comprehensive range of services and resources to support our members in their professional growth. From Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to networking events, BAMAN ensures that aesthetic nurses have access to the tools and knowledge necessary to deliver high-quality care.
Promoting Patient Safety: As a leading authority in non-surgical aesthetic treatments, BAMAN actively promotes and supports patient safety. We work closely with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and our members to advocate for safe, ethical, and clinically sound practices across the aesthetic industry.
At BAMAN, our mission is to empower aesthetic nurses by providing the resources, training, and support needed to excel in their field. We believe in delivering the highest standard of care to the public, and our ethos has remained steadfast since our inception: BAMAN is an association for nurses, created by nurses, and focused on meeting the needs of nurses.
Our members benefit from:
BAMAN is a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation owned and operated by its members. Our association is governed by an elected Management Committee, who work closely with a dedicated HQ team of administrative professionals. This team is further supported by Regional Leaders who serve as ambassadors in their local communities, helping to foster a sense of connection and collaboration among members.
