BAMAN Endorses RCN’s #ProtectNurse Campaign and Supports Legal Protection of the Title "Nurse."
The British Association of Medical Aesthetics Nurses (BAMAN) is proud to announce its formal endorsement of the Royal College of Nursing’s (RCN) #ProtectNurse campaign and the Nurse (Use of Title) Bill, introduced by Dawn Butler MP.
The proposed legislation seeks to legally protect the title "nurse", ensuring that it may only be used by individuals registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). BAMAN fully supports this vital step towards enhancing public trust, safeguarding patient safety, and reinforcing the high standards of care that patients rightly expect from healthcare professionals.
Alex Mills, Vice Chair of BAMAN, said: “The misuse of the title 'nurse' undermines the integrity of our profession and puts patients at risk. As medical aesthetic nurses, we are accountable to the NMC and uphold rigorous clinical and ethical standards. BAMAN stands firmly with the RCN in calling for legal protection of the title to ensure the public can clearly identify who is appropriately qualified and regulated.”
BAMAN encourages its members and all those working within the aesthetics and wider nursing community to actively support this campaign by:
