The Women’s Health Research Priorities (WHRP) project is being undertaken to define a list of priority research questions, with the aim of influencing how research bodies focus on and fund research into the most pressing issues affecting women’s health in the future.

The first two phases of this project produced a range of research questions relating to 14 women's health topics, based on feedback from over 1400 respondents. Further information about the project work to date can be found on the project webpage: https://www.rcog.org.uk/womens-health-research

We would be very grateful for your participation in the third stage of the Women’s Health Research Priorities project, by completing a survey to indicate which research questions you believe are the most important.

If you need any assistance to take part in this work or would like help to complete the survey, please contact the project team: whrp@rcog.org.uk

We recognise that this survey includes some topics relating to women's health, gynaecology care, pregnancy, labour, and birth that may be difficult to reflect on and could bring up difficult emotions. If you feel upset or in need of support, please know you're not alone. We encourage you to reach out to a trusted professional, support group, or healthcare provider.

The Women’s Health Research Priorities project is being led by Professor Asma Khalil, Vice President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, with support from a Steering Group made up of health care professionals and women and people with lived experiences.

Within this survey we use the terms 'woman' and 'women’s health'. However, it is important to acknowledge that it is not only women for whom it is necessary to access women’s health and reproductive services in order to maintain their gynaecological health and reproductive wellbeing. Gynaecological and obstetric services and delivery of care must therefore be appropriate, inclusive and sensitive to the needs of women and people whose gender identity does not align with the sex they were assigned at birth.

Any information provided in this survey will be held confidentially and is subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018. You can read the RCOG Privacy Policy and Data Protection Policy for more information.

The RCOG may use AI tools to improve the efficiency, quality, and speed of our analysis of the survey results. This will apply to the questions that are proposed and the analysis of prioritised questions only – no personal data, including your contact details or demographic information, will be processed using an AI tool.  If you have any concerns about the use of your data with AI tools, please email: dataprotection@rcog.org.uk
