The British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) 25th Anniversary Conference was a landmark celebration of innovation, education and professional excellence, bringing together some of the most respected voices in aesthetic medicine for a memorable day at the Pullman London St Pancras. Marking a quarter of a century at the forefront of aesthetic medicine, the conference reflected BCAM’s ongoing commitment to evidence-based education, patient safety and advancing standards within the specialty. Opening addresses from BCAM President Dr Sophie Shotter and Trustee Dr Manav Bawa set the tone for a day filled with insightful discussion, collaboration and inspiration.
Educational sessions throughout the day explored key topics including regenerative aesthetics, ultrasound-guided injectables, lasers and light therapies, facial anatomy and patient safety. Highlights included:
One of the standout moments of the conference was a special panel discussion featuring BCAM founding members:
Chaired by Dr Sophie Shotter, the panel reflected on the origins of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors (BACD) in 2002, when 27 like-minded professionals gathered at the Law Society with a shared vision for unbiased education, professional standards and collegiate support within what was then a largely isolated field of practice.
The conference also celebrated academic achievement, with Dr Tahera Bhojani announced as the winner of this year’s Quality Research Award for her paper: Optimizing Infraorbital Hollows Treatment With Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: Overview of Anatomy, Injection Techniques, and Product Considerations.
The celebrations continued into the evening with a gala dinner, where guests enjoyed live entertainment from five-piece band Soulstress Groove, bringing a fitting close to a special celebration marking 25 years of BCAM. We extend our sincere thanks to all speakers, sponsors, delegates and supporters whose contributions helped make the event such a success.
