DermaFocus is a regenerative aesthetics training and distribution company, specialising in distributing evidence-based regenerative aesthetic products.

DermaFocus is taking its next step towards becoming a global regenerative aesthetics business, announcing its expansion into the United Arab Emirates and Australia.

The move marks a significant milestone for the company, which has built a strong presence in the UK and Ireland, and comes as demand continues to grow for regenerative aesthetic treatments focused on skin quality, natural-looking results and longer-term tissue health.

For aesthetic clinics and practitioners, the expansion is also interesting because of the products and education DermaFocus is taking into these two markets.

The UAE launch will initially focus on the Plinest® Polynucleotides HPT® range by Italian manufacturer Mastelli, while practitioners in Australia will be introduced to Dermoaroma's Purasomes secretome-based technology.

Why the UAE and Australia?

Both the UAE and Australia are described by DermaFocus as dynamic medical aesthetics markets, with increasing interest in advanced regenerative treatments.

The company says practitioners and patients are increasingly looking for solutions that combine effective outcomes and safety with a focus on natural-looking results and longer-term skin quality and tissue health.

That fits closely with the wider direction of regenerative aesthetics, where the emphasis is moving beyond simply correcting an immediate concern towards supporting the skin's own repair and regeneration processes.

For DermaFocus, the expansion also provides an opportunity to take the education and clinical support model it has developed in the UK and Ireland into new markets.

The company says the launches will be supported by expert-led clinical education and training programmes, alongside access to its growing portfolio of regenerative products.

Plinest® Polynucleotides HPT® arrives in the UAE

The first product focus for the UAE will be Plinest® Polynucleotides HPT®, manufactured by Mastelli.

Plinest® is a range of injectable polynucleotide products that DermaFocus distributes exclusively in the UK, Ireland and UAE.

Mastelli has been developing regenerative medicine products for many years, and DermaFocus describes the company as one of the pioneers of the regenerative aesthetics category.

According to the company, Plinest® was the first polynucleotide-based brand to be registered as a medical device for intradermal injection, with registration dating back to 2005.

The range uses Mastelli's Polynucleotides High Purification Technology (PN-HPT®), which the company describes as a patented process for producing highly purified DNA fragments.

The polynucleotides are derived from trout rather than salmon, with DermaFocus highlighting the sourcing as safe, sustainable and ethical.

Plinest

A portfolio designed for different indications

One of the strengths of the Plinest® portfolio is the number of products within the range.

The portfolio includes four polymerised polynucleotide-based injectable gels:

  • Plinest®
  • Plinest® Hair
  • Plinest® Eye
  • Newest®

Each has its own formulation and is intended to address different patient concerns and indications across the face, body and hair.

Rather than focusing solely on short-term correction, the products are positioned around improving skin quality at a cellular level and supporting the skin's natural repair processes.

This reflects one of the key developments in regenerative aesthetics: patients are increasingly interested in improving the underlying quality and health of their skin rather than simply adding volume or correcting an individual line.

Combination treatments are part of the picture

Another interesting aspect of the Plinest® range is its potential role within broader treatment programmes.

DermaFocus says the products can be used as monotherapy or alongside other aesthetic treatments.

The company describes the PN-HPT® priming process as preparing the skin and making it more receptive to medical, aesthetic and anti-ageing treatments.

It also cites a synergistic effect when used alongside treatments including laser, radiofrequency, fillers, peels, microneedling and surgery. [1]

For practitioners, this type of flexibility is potentially important.

Regenerative treatments do not necessarily need to sit separately from the rest of a clinic's treatment menu. Instead, they can form part of a wider treatment plan, depending on the patient's concerns, clinical assessment and treatment objectives.

The importance of expertise and education

For DermaFocus, the international expansion is not simply about making products available in new countries.

Education is a central part of the proposition.

The company says practitioners in both markets will have access to expert-led clinical education and training, building on the approach that has become associated with DermaFocus in the UK and Ireland.

That is particularly relevant in regenerative aesthetics, where practitioner understanding of product characteristics, patient selection and treatment protocols is an important part of delivering consistent outcomes.

The partnership with Mastelli also gives DermaFocus access to the company's long-standing experience in polynucleotide science.

Mastelli is described as the originator of PDRN and the developer of Polynucleotides HPT® in 2005, while DermaFocus has established itself in the UK as a specialist in polynucleotide treatments.

Together, the companies are positioning their combined expertise as a way of giving practitioners greater confidence in the scientific rationale and clinical performance of the Plinest® range.

Purasomes launches in Australia

While the UAE launch will focus on polynucleotides, Australian practitioners will be introduced to a different regenerative technology: Purasomes from Italian research and development company Dermoaroma.

Purasomes use secretome-based technology and combine 20 billion exosomes with 20 growth factors.

The products are designed to support cellular communication and skin and scalp recovery.

Dermoaroma's patented AMPLEX Plus technology uses exosomes and growth factors derived from ethically sourced bovine colostrum.

There are three products in the Purasomes portfolio, each formulated for a different indication:

Purasomes NC150+ Skin Nutri Complex

Designed for tired and aged skin.

Purasomes SGC100+ Skin Glow Complex

Designed for dull, damaged and dark-spot-prone skin.

Purasomes HSC50+ Hair & Scalp Complex

Designed for thin and damaged hair.

According to DermaFocus, Purasomes can be introduced into the skin through in-clinic microneedling, either as a standalone treatment or alongside other aesthetic procedures.

The products can also be used as adjuncts to energy-based treatments, including as part of post-treatment skin recovery.

Two markets, two technologies

It is interesting that DermaFocus is entering the two markets with different areas of its regenerative aesthetics portfolio.

In the UAE, the focus will initially be on polynucleotides and the established Plinest® range.

In Australia, the company will introduce Purasomes and its combination of exosomes and growth factors.

Both approaches sit within the broader regenerative aesthetics category, but they demonstrate just how quickly the sector is expanding and how many different technologies are now being developed around the idea of improving skin quality and supporting regeneration.

For practitioners, that means education is likely to become increasingly important.

As the number of regenerative products entering the market grows, understanding the science, evidence, indications and appropriate treatment protocols behind each technology will be essential.

What does the expansion mean for DermaFocus?

The UAE and Australia launches represent the first phase of DermaFocus' wider international growth strategy.

The company says further market expansion is planned as it continues to build its global presence.

For a business that has established its reputation in the UK and Ireland, moving into two sophisticated international aesthetics markets represents a significant step.

DermaFocus Co-Founder and Executive Director Milad Bemana

DermaFocus Co-Founder and Executive Director Milad Bemana says the expansion builds on the company's sustained success in the UK and Irish markets and will allow practitioners in the UAE and Australia to access its expertise in regenerative aesthetic medicine.

"We're delighted to be growing our global presence with expansion into the UAE and Australian markets," says Bemana. "We're looking forward to establishing long-term partnerships with practitioners in these sophisticated and forward-thinking markets."

He adds that the new launches are intended to give practitioners access to some of the company's most advanced expertise in regenerative aesthetic medicine science.

The wider trend towards regenerative aesthetics

For clinics in the UK and Ireland, the international expansion is worth watching even though the immediate focus is on overseas markets.

The growth of companies specialising in regenerative aesthetics reflects a broader change in what patients are asking for.

Rather than simply looking for a quick fix, there is increasing interest in treatments that support skin quality and deliver natural, progressive results.

That creates opportunities for clinics to develop treatment plans that look beyond a single procedure.

Polynucleotides, exosome and secretome-based technologies, energy-based treatments, microneedling and other procedures can increasingly be considered as part of a broader approach to skin quality — provided they are appropriate for the individual patient and supported by suitable clinical evidence.

The challenge for practitioners will be separating genuinely useful innovation from the inevitable noise that comes with a rapidly developing market.

That makes evidence, education and practitioner training increasingly important.

For DermaFocus, the UAE and Australia expansion is clearly about more than selling products. The company is aiming to take a particular approach to regenerative aesthetics — combining products, scientific evidence, clinical education and practitioner support — into new international markets.

And with further expansion planned, it looks like this is only the beginning.
