The British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) has announced a change in leadership, with Dr Catherine Fairris stepping down as President and Dr Sophie Shotter appointed as her successor, effective 1 September 2025.
Dr Catherine Fairris’ Presidency
During her tenure, Dr Fairris has been recognised for her passion, vision, and commitment to regulation and safety within aesthetic medicine. Under her leadership, BCAM has strengthened its role as a leading voice for safe and ethical practice in the UK.
The BCAM Board of Trustees praised her contribution, noting:
“Dr Fairris has made an incredible contribution to BCAM during her tenure, shaping the College’s direction and ensuring that patient safety and regulatory excellence remain at the heart of our work. We are deeply grateful for her leadership.”
Dr Sophie Shotter’s Appointment
Succeeding Dr Fairris, Dr Sophie Shotter brings extensive clinical expertise, a strong background in education, and a commitment to advancing best practice in the profession. Her appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for BCAM as the organisation continues its mission to promote high standards across aesthetic medicine.
The Board added:
“We are delighted to welcome Dr Shotter as our new President. Her energy, vision, and experience will guide BCAM into the future, and we look forward to the opportunities her leadership will bring.”
