Introduction

Fingers crossed you are reading this, and you are OPEN! Since we last sent you a copy of the Consulting Room Magazine, the aesthetic sector has been turned upside down with another national lockdown. This saw close-contact cosmetic services and many medically-led clinics cease operating whilst the country was told to stay at home again due to COVID-19. Many nurses and doctors within this sector used this time to step back into 'former' roles with the NHS, pushing up their sleeves and getting stuck in with the national vaccination effort. I saw many posts on social media and ran out of fingers to count the names and faces that I recognise who put their time into volunteering for the programme - which the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, called "the biggest logistical effort since the war". I am sure many of your peers and colleagues in our sector will join me in thanking you. This issue is a mix of continued practical business advice for these unprecedented times, some success stories to cheer everyone up, and many great clinical articles around skin health and skincare.
