Introduction

So here we are, embarking on a new year, nay a new decade in the aesthetic sector. Are you ready for it? As Consulting Room enter our seventeenth year providing information and advice to both medical aesthetic practitioners and the public, it's certainly true that a lot has changed in the landscape of aesthetic medicine during that time - from the products and devices you now have at your disposal, to the broad range of practitioners now operating aesthetic businesses and delivering treatments to the public. Like it, or loathe it, it seems that as we enter a new decade, our legislators are not prepared to touch us with a barge pole and pass dictate on who should and shouldn't be performing aesthetic treatments, particularly injectables. Who knows what 2020 will bring but we will continue to educate the public to steer them towards reputable clinics and practitioners and push for better regulation. Lorna Jackson | Editor
