Wart on Face

Question: Wart on Face

I have a wart, larger than a pea, on my face. I have had it for many years but it has grown. Spoke to GP surgery on the phone & sent a photo & was told not to worry as it is a wart. However I recently tried to treat it myself with Savlon gel and there is no improvement & skin surrounding wart is turning brown, which might mean it is spreading.
Is there any treatment you would recommend?

Answer: Hi Marian, thanks for your enquiry. Did the surgery give you an actual diagnosis of what kind of wart it was? At Finesse Skin Clinic we would always recommend a face to face consultation to discuss your requirements. This is beneficial and will enable you to see the clinic and its clean professional treatment environment and of course to meet your practitioner.

How does this sound to you?

Answer: Good morning Marian, thank you for your enquiry.

At Thames Skin Clinic we use plasma bt to remove warts. This helps to not only remove the lesion on top of the skin but penetrates into the virus to stop any further spreading.

Do get in touch if you would like to make an appointment.

Best wishes,
Abbi

Answer: Dear Marian,
Thank you for your message. We may be able to help if the wart is a seborrheic wart (ageing related) rather than a viral wart. If you send us a photo we can advise if we can remove it for you, and what the procedure will entail.
Kind regards

Answer: Good afternoon Marian,

Thank you for your email enquiry.

I would like to invite you to visit rtwskin Clinic for a Dermatology Consultation. During this time, your highly trained medical Practitioner will thoroughly assess the severity of your condition and advise you on the best course of treatment. It is at this appointment that a Laser Patch test will be provided, which will need to be monitored for 24 hours to ensure you have no adverse reactions.

Laser treatment is extremely effective on warts and verrucae and is a great alternative to traditional treatments. It is particularly suitable for large or widespread warts and verrucae that have failed to respond to other treatments.

Here at the rtwskin Clinic we have two options available:
ND:YAG Laser
This Laser light destroys the blood supply to the wart or verruca without damaging the surrounding tissue. The laser energy heats up the wart, sealing its blood supply, which will target the viral infection so the wart can no longer survive. If the blood supply is not stopped, further treatment will be needed to ensure that continued growth is prevented. Everyone heals at different rates so it is difficult to give you exact times between treatments. Your practitioner will advise you.

ER:YAG Laser
This Laser is safe, very precise and a much more invasive treatment which ablates the wart or verruca surgically. Depending on the size, location and number of lesions removed, healing is complete within a couple of weeks of the treatment.

Our opening hours are as follows:
Monday to Saturday 9-6pm

If you have any further questions or would like to book a Consultation, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be more than happy to help.

Price for a Dermatology Consultation is £165, with a £50 deposit payable upon booking.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Answer: Thank you for your question. A simple facial wart will respond to cryotherapy or freezing. Normally one session is enough. Be prepared for some downtime in the form of redness, swelling and scabbing. The are treated normally heals in about 7-10 days. Please contact us if you would like any further information or to book in.
