After puberty we do not create new fat cells in our bodies. When you gain weight, the fat cells that you have expand or grow bigger.
Liposuction is the most commonly performed aesthetic surgical procedure for fat removal and body contouring. This invasive technique involves the removal of fat from the reserve or deeper fat layers, but it is not typically performed in the subcutaneous fat layer (just below the surface of the skin) where cellulite originates. This is because side effects such as bleeding, swelling and scarring can be worse. There are some surgeons, however, who are experimenting with newer techniques to help reduce these problems.
