Regenerative Aesthetics - PDO Thread combined with PRP
What Better way to rejuvenate your skin than to harness your body's own power to revive your natural beauty?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is the latest medical treatment to cross over into the world of aesthetics. Long established as a treatment for healing wounds, PRP has also been adopted by sports medicine (Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant are both reported recipients) and orthopaedic specialities.
Today PRP has found a home in aesthetics and Rippon Medical Services is proud to be successfully treating our patients with their own unique growth factors. These growth factors are used to rejuvenate your skin, by healing damaged or aging skin. Dr Rippon MBCHB Advanced Aesthetics Medical Practitioner uses the Cellenis PRP system which is safe and effective, versatile, non-allergenic, and offers virtually no downtime or side effects. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is plasma from your own blood which contains concentrated platelets.
What are platelets?
Platelets are a specialized type of blood cell fragment in your own blood which are reservoirs of natural growth factors. Platelets rupture and release their growth factors when they find themselves out of their normal environment (which is in your blood vessels). Typically this occurs when an injury occurs to the body and blood vessels are ruptured. This could be due to an accidental cut or scrape or a bruise. The released growth factors then get to work building new blood vessels and new tissue. In normal circumstances, growth factors are important in healing and skin regeneration.
* Growth factors stimulate collagen secretion, cell growth and tissue remodelling.
* Growth factors stimulate development of new blood vessels to improve skin nourishment.
* Growth factors attract stem cells to assist in this role of new tissue regeneration.
By injecting platelets in a Platelet Rich Plasma, we harness this new tissue regeneration ability of the growth factors. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) assists in recovery from the aging process and importantly, enhances the results of other rejuvenation treatments. When we combine the treatment with our PDO Thread Lifts the results give restoration of skin moisture and glow, and an improvement in skin texture and tone.
