Emma is the Clinical Director of EL Skin & Aesthetics ltd and has over 23 years of experience in acute hospital and primary healthcare NHS & private settings. She qualified in Aesthetic Nursing in 2018 and specialises in advising medical grade skin care and treatments to create a youthful but natural look. She has a great understanding of the wellbeing of her patients both physically and mentally, this enables her to understand the entire process of planning any aesthetic needs.
The Calgary Cambridge style of questioning will be used to ensure patient safety, allowing the clinician to gather information, provide structure to the consultation, build a relationship with the patient, provide explanation and information of all treatments before planning the treatment itself, taking in to consideration Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).
Emma studied Clinical Nursing at Bournemouth University, Occupational Health Nursing at the University of West Scotland and Aesthetic Nursing in Harley Street, London and she holds a level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetics. This qualification demonstrates that Emma has achieved the requirements to perform injectable aesthetic treatments in Botulinum toxin (Botox) and Dermal fillers. Emma underwent extensive training and passed all assessments of all injectable treatments to ensure the highest standards were performed.
She is a Nurse Prescriber, insured by Hamilton Fraser, the leading insurance company for Aesthetic Practitioners. This qualification allows her to make an assessment of her clients health before prescribing prescription only medication. This must always be a face to face consultation and the patients should have time to consider the risks and benefits before proceeding to a treatment. She is registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and belongs to the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and the Aesthetic complication expert group (ACE). Emma adheres to these strict guidelines and standards.
As well as her aesthetic business Emma also provides a training academy for those new into the industry. Supporting their journey into the aesthetic industry. As a Trainer for Fillmed® Emma provides protocol lead courses and ongoing mentorship to ensure confidence is established and safety is maintained to the highest standard.
Emma’s passion is to ensure that patients achieve a natural youthful look with regular skincare and the option of additional aesthetic treatments.
Medical grade skincare is used for all in clinic treatments, with prescription ZO skincare and Luxury Alumier medical skincare available for home treatments.
Emma is keen to educate about the effects of ageing including the impact of sun damage on the skin and is passionate about the importance of regular Sun Protection Factor (SPF) all year round. Skin damage or skin imperfections can be assessed to see which treatment is suitable for each individual patient.
