Dr Ruba Ribes Pastor,

I graduated in medicine in 1988 at the Valencia University Faculty of Medicine, Spain. Shortly after I came to the UK to train in anaesthetics and did my specialist Registrar training in the Welsh School of Anaesthesia where I gained experience in anaesthesia for burns and plastic surgery in Swansea.

I have been a consultant in anaesthetics at Stoke Mandeville Hospital since 1998. There I have extended and consolidated my expertise in anaesthetising patients for plastic surgical procedures. I have provided Adrian Richards anaesthetic services since he was appointed as a consultant plastic surgeon at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

My main interests are plastic and aesthetic surgery and obstetric anaesthesia. I have extensive experience in providing general anaesthesia, sedation or twilight anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia (spinal/epidural blocks) and peripheral nerve blocks.

I am a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, the British Medical Association, the Association of Obstetric Anaesthetists and the Difficult Airway Society.
