If you’re used to ingrown hairs, endless shaving and wax appointments, we’d bet you’ve considered laser hair removal at least once already.

So, what’s putting you off?

Often, not quite understanding the treatment, what’s involved or whether it’s painful can be blockers for patients that we see.

Firstly, we can assure you that laser hair removal is no longer the painful treatment it once was, in fact, there’s next-to-no discomfort or downtime nowadays.

Here’s everything you need to know about Diolaze laser hair removal...

What laser do you use?

We provide quick and effective laser hair removal using the Diolaze laser. It’s fast and targets unwanted hair in a more direct, concentrated way than something like an IPL treatment where light is scattered over the skin.

Does it hurt?

The Diolaze laser has a sophisticated cooling system integrated into the handpiece to counteract any heat coming from the laser. This means the only sensation you are likely to feel is a gentle cooling, rather than any pain, heat or zapping!

How Many treatments do I need?

Laser hair removal does require a course of treatments, more often than not we’ll be recommending between 6-8 treatments for the best possible results.

If you are having laser hair removal on your face, each treatment will be scheduled 4-6 weeks apart.

If it’s hair removal on another area of the body like your underarm or leg, it will be 6-8 weeks apart.

How many treatments do I need?

So, what areas can be treated with laser hair removal?

This one’s easy – wherever there is hair on your body, we can treat with Diolaze laser hair removal. From a large area like your back, to a smaller more intimate area. The only areas we don’t treat are the scalp or eyebrows due to ongoing trends.

Who can have diolaze hair removal?

The hair removal provided by Diolaze is suitable for the majority of people. If you have dark, thick hair we can treat it.

As with any medical treatment, there are a small list of medical restrictions but these can be discussed in your consultation. We also provide a patch test to every patient before treatment.

What do I have to do prior to a treatment?

What do I have to do prior to a treatment?

There are 3 key areas of preparation that must be adhered too in order to have a safe and successful laser hair removal treatment.

These are:

  1. Avoid sun exposure. Ideally, your laser hair removal treatment will take place during Winter where there is less direct sunlight.
  2. Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment.
  3. Have minimal or no product on the skin of treatment area.

Is there anything I have to do post-treatment?

Whilst there’s no downtime as such with this treatment, there are a few things you need to do in order to look after the newly treated skin and optimise treatment results. These are:

  1. We will apply cooling aloe vera gel to the treatment area(s).
  2. Avoid hot water/sweaty activities for 48 hours.
  3. Avoid perfumed products/active ingredients.
  4. Continue to stay out of direct sunlight for 10-14 days.
  5. Only shave between sessions.
  6. Use SPF30 daily as a minimum.
