About

Biography & Background

Nurse Sara Cheeney RGN is an aesthetic nurse prescriber, clinic director, international speaker, and business coach based in Rossett, near Wrexham and Chester, North Wales. Her route into aesthetics began with a personal experience: she suffered from psoriasis as a teenager and developed a lasting interest in skin health and the science of treating skin conditions. That experience set her on a path to dual qualification, training simultaneously as a registered nurse and a beauty therapist. She holds a BN (Hons) in Nursing from Manchester Metropolitan University and a V300 Nurse Prescriber qualification, and has been a registered member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) throughout her career. She has also been an active member of professional bodies including the British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN), the British Dermatology Nursing Group, the Private Independent Aesthetic Practices Association (PIAPA), and the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group (ACE).

Sara founded Pure Perfection Clinic in Rossett in 2008, building it from its earliest days into one of the most recognised skin clinics in Wales and the North West. She has been at the forefront of combining injectable treatments — including anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers — with a medically grounded approach to skin health, centred on ZO Skin Health protocols. She was personally selected to attend Dr Zein Obagi's International Training Programme in Beverly Hills and subsequently became a ZO Skin Health Faculty Member and UK Trainer, one of the country's leading educators for the brand. Alongside her ZO work, she is a Key Opinion Leader and international speaker for both HydraFacial and InMode UK, and has recently undertaken cadaver training at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as part of her ongoing commitment to facial anatomy education. She is also now teaching for Neauvia, delivering CPD in facial anatomy for practitioners across the UK.

Sara's career has been shaped in part by significant personal adversity. She ran and grew Pure Perfection Clinic while undergoing chemotherapy and multiple surgeries during a breast cancer diagnosis, and simultaneously raising her two children. That resilience became central to her professional identity, informing her approach to patient care and her advocacy around confidence and wellbeing. The Consulting Room blog published in April 2025 described her as a "cancer campaigner" and confirmed that receiving the Aesthetics Awards 2025 Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner of the Year title was, in her own words, "a dream come true." She has also received coverage in the Shropshire Star in connection with the award, and her comments on managing rosacea have been featured in The Telegraph.

In addition to her clinical work, Sara leads Clinic Success, a consultancy and coaching business she founded to help other aesthetic clinic owners grow their practices. Through one-to-one coaching, shadow days, and a forthcoming online course, she shares the operational and strategic expertise accumulated across nearly two decades of running one of the most awarded clinics in the sector. Her stated goal is to ensure that patients across the UK have access to safe and effective aesthetic treatments, and to help the next generation of practitioners navigate an increasingly complex and competitive marketplace.
