Answer: Hi Elaine
Thank you for your question:
Here are a few recommendations in order to answer your question as comprehensive as possible
Ensure the person offering the procedure is a doctor (medically qualified) .
You could ask also how many years of experience this doctor has had in this procedure .
Silhouette soft are threads that are distributed in the UK by “Sinclair”
You could check on their website / clinic finder to see if the doctor or the clinic are recommended by this company .
Thread lifts are considered to be a “minor surgical procedure “, therefore premises offering this treatment need to be CQC registered . Ensure this is the case with your clinic of choice.
Last but not least you could check the website of the GMC (general medical council) their registry, to ensure the doctor treating you is a fully qualified doctor with a valid licence. Same goes for the registration with BCAM (British college of aesthetic medicine)
I hope you have found the advice useful
Thank you again

Answer: Hello Elaine
Firstly threads are a highly regulated treatment because they are a minor surgical procedure. In Scotland the clinic must be registered with Health Improvement Scotland and registered for minor surgical procedures.
2. The service will provide non-surgical treatments and minor surgical procedures.
In England the clinic must be registered with the Care Quality Commission and carried out by a Surgeon, Dentist, Doctor or Nurse Both HIS and CQC have a searchable data base of registered clinics, always check never take someones word.
All medical professional should display their registration number on the website and you can look them up on the professional site.
Unfortunately the regulations currently do not extend to individuals who are not medical and they can claim anything? recently I have seen thread lift complications from a clinic near by were the man was claiming to sometimes be a doctor or a nurse. Yet he is not on any professional NMC, GMC, GDC register and his clinic is not registered with HIS.
Buyer beware
Kind regards Dr Victoria'
