Question: Cost of treatment?
Can you please advise me of the cost of laser treatment for fungal nail infections on the fingernails, and how many treatments would be needed?

Answer: Thank you for your email enquiry.
I would like to invite you to visit rtwskin Clinic for a Consultation. During this time, your highly trained medical Practitioner will thoroughly assess the severity of your condition and advise you on the best course of treatment. It is at this appointment that a Laser Patch test will be provided, which will need to be monitored for 24 hours to ensure you have no adverse reactions.
We offer treatment for your fungal nail infection with a laser procedure. Clinical trials show that the procedure safely destroys the fungus in 85–90% of cases. The laser beam is designed to shine through your nail and destroy the specific pathogens embedded in and under it that cause the infection. The nail will not become instantly clear - it takes time to grow out.
This is a better result than antifungal medicine, which you take for some time with the risk of side effects to the liver or kidneys. After a series of treatments, a new healthy nail will push the diseased portion out, which can then be cut or scraped away.
The cost of treatment varies depending on how many nails need treatment and the depth of the infection. You may need up to 6 treatments to completely get rid of the infection. Each visit will be no more than 10 minutes and will need to be repeated every 7 – 14 days.
The consultation charge is £50.00.
