Answer: Good morning, Amlodipine is not a contra indication for Botox. We have several patients on that medication and we never had a problem with not working. Dr Raquel is a senior trainer for award winning academy that trains medical professionals in injectables as as well belonging to a complications group and amlodipine never been a problem. However if you wish to improving lines and wrinkles there are many options. Is often a combination of treatment that work best but without a full consultation it will be impossible to give you an answer as we don't know you age, skin type, etc.. My recommendation is to book a consultation so you can have answers to all the questions.

Answer: Dear Claudia,
Thank you for the question. Amlodipine does affect Botox results when Botox is used for more systemic issues e.g muscle spasm and over active bladder.
However I don’t believe it affects the localised affects of Botox when treating small muscle groups in the face. We have a few patients on Amlodipine and Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox, Xeomin and Azzalure) work for them.
Alternative treatments for Botox include Profhilo and microneedling. These treatments help to improve the elasticity of the skin and therefore reduce lines and wrinkles. However Botox is unique in its action.
If you would like to book in for a consultation then please contact us via our profile page.
Warm Regards

Answer: Hello Claudia
Yes there are alternative options to treat lines across the brow, frown lines and crows feet.
If you have lines that you can see when your face is resting then dermal gel fillers are an excellent option, they give instant results and last longer than Botox often over 12 months depending on the depth of the line and amount of dynamic movement.
When you only see the lines on movement called dynamic lines then it is most effective to keep your skin healthy and dermis thick by projecting daily with and SPF of 30 so that collagen is not destroyed by light. To keep your skin really healthy and tight microneedling is a great option especially with a bio-active serum containing exosomes or polynucleotides, these messenger molecules boost your skins ability to repair so stop and even reverse skin ageing. Depending on your age, lines and laxity we usually recommend 3-6 treatments, one a month.
For more personalized information have a face to face consultation.
Kind regards

Answer: Hi Claudia, thank you for your message. Amlodipine is not contra-indictaed for Botox, although there may be a slightly increased risk of bruising after treatment. If you would still prefer to not have botox other treatments such as polynucleotide injections or microneedling could be an alternative, these treatments are carried out in courses of 3 sessions and take longer to see results. Youre welcome to book for a consultation if you would like to discuss further. Thank you

Answer: There are no listed names interactions between Botulinum Type A and Amlodipine in the BNF as of checking today.
Alternatives to “Botox”: that would depend on what you want “Botox” for.

Answer: Dear Claudia,
We would recommend coming for a consultation with our medical staff. we treat many patients who are prescribed Amlodipine and Botox is extremely effective. it is certainly not a contraindication to treatment. Currently there are not licensed alternatives to Botox that we can administer, so our medical staff would recommend trying Botox injections first.
We can arrange a consultation for you.
Kind regards
