Answer: Hi Gemma. It depends on how you’ve been affected by Bells Palsy but it is likely that Botox can be used in some way to change the way your muscles move and even up your face. The best thing to do would be to book a Consultation via the profile and then we can have a look and see what’s possible.

Answer: Sometimes and I emphasise sometimes, Botox can help regain some symmetry following Bells Palsy.

Normally in A&E I send patients with Bells Palsy to see an ENT surgeon. This is suspect you will have gone through in the past.

That being said, I think the better option here for you would be to see Jose De Cordova at the Lido Medical Centre. He is both an ENT surgeon and a Botox administering doctor.

Botox will relax the non Bells Side, so you will have less difference between the two sides at rest, NOT when smiling or laughing. Botox makes no difference to the Bells Palsy side, as a general rule

Answer: Thank you for your enquiry.

Botox can be used to address asymmetry caused by Bell's Palsy, by modulating the nerve communication with facial muscles on the unaffected side of the face.

There are also other treatments which may be more helpful, such as microneedling with exosomes to improve cellular messaging, meaning cells communicate better and work together in a more synchronised manner. LED therapy has also shown promising results through excitement of intracellular messengers and energy transfer between skin cells during the light treatment.

If you want to discuss any of these treatments in more detail, please book a consultation using the link on my clinic profile or on my website

Warm regards
