Botox to treat Herpes

Botox to treat Herpes

Once (sometimes twice) a month, I have an out break of herpes on my left bottom cheek. To be specific, it happens in 3 places, on a rotation system.
Triggers are exercise, deep tissue massage and sometimes it is mid menstrual cycle.

I grew up having cold ores on my lips and then 2 years ago, the lip cold sores stopped completely and the blisters started appearing on my left bottom cheek.

I have tried to track why, when and how and now I am just after a solution to help!

Please let me know if you think injecting botox around the affected area will help?

Answer: Thank you for your enquiry, it is our understanding that Botox may help with post herpetic neuralgia but not the virus itself, if this is something you suffer with, you are advised to speak with a neurologist.

Answer: Oh I do feel for you, I'm unlikely to be able to directly help:
1. Botox will not help - its a paralysing agent
2. Are you sure it's herpes? and not shingles? sounds like you need famciclovir or similar. I would suggest that you see your GP and get referred to Dr Rajesh Hembrom or Dr Ivan Muscat at the hospital for an opinion. You may also need your immune system checking. This is all general advice and the best place to start is your GP here in Jersey.

Answer: many thanks for your email. I'm sorry you are suffering. We do not offer a solution for this problem, but it may be worth trying one of the top aesthetic doctors, maybe in London, to see if it is something they have experience with.
Kind regards
Reception

Answer: Good morning

No, botox will not help any of these concerns.

I would see your GP to discuss this further.
