“Normally terrified of dentists but was recommended by a friend after being in pain for weeks with a tooth, from the moment I rang to book they were so sweet, friendly and reassuring, talked me through the process and then upon arriving it was so hygienic and put at ease with everything covid related, once in the room my options for treatments were explained so I could make my own choice which was super calming. So grateful for how attentive they were whilst performing the extraction as to wether I was okay and then the aftercare advice was awesome along with extra advice that was much needed to prevent it happening again! 20/10 service and well worth the money, highly recommend to anyone in need”

Rang the castle clinic on a Saturday morning at 9:30 after a sleepless night, an appointment was made for the same day at 10:30. I was in so much pain and the team have sorted it all out for me. “After discovering The Bloom Clinic on Instagram and seeing the evidence of qualifications & high levels of expertise that Dr Nandi possesses, it was evident that I was going to book at The Bloom Clinic to help reduce my Bruxism. I knew immediately after seeing Dr Nandi’s qualifications, I was going to be in safe hands & I’m very glad to say that Dr Nandi delivered beyond my expectations.

Not only does Dr Nandi have a friendly & kind personality, her knowledge is fantastic and cohesive, she thoroughly talked me through Bruxism, the implications and side effects, whilst taking the time to understand my journey with Bruxism - how it impacts me & to what extent does it impact me in my daily life. “I’ve been to the Castle Clinic a couple of times in the last few months and have had brilliant service on both occasions. All the staff put you at complete ease; I saw Lisa on my first appointment and Adam on my second. Justin also took the time to contact me after I made the appointment, to go through what I needed to ensure I saw the right person for the job. Who knew you could be so chuffed with a visit to the dentist to whip a wisdom tooth out?! “Dr Gertrude Huss has changed my life, she addressed an insecurity I have had for many years with regards to my teeth and how uneven they are, I also fell and killed my front tooth which turned black. “I consulted Dr Okoye as I wanted to have my veneers replaced. I was familiar with her because of her television appearances, frequent recommendations in glossy magazines and enthusiastic Google reviews.

My initial consultation went well. While she was 40 minutes late seeing me, I was none the less impressed by her friendly manner and can-do approach. I had several more appointments, during which x-rays were taken. I began to get concerned when she would not give me any idea of the cost of replacing my veneers. I was £4,000 down before she would give me an inkling of the cost and the figure she quoted of over £40,000 for replacing 8 veneers or so, was just ridiculous.

It was my feeling that after spending so much money, Dr Okoye thought I would think that having spent so much I would continue with my treatment. However, after visiting my usual dentist who convinced me that this sum was ridiculous (he has no vested interest as he about to retire and does not specialise in cosmetic work) I decided to pull out of the rest of my treatment. I was also concerned that in Dr Okoye’s energetic magazine PR she promotes her practice extensively as a `spa’, but this seems to amount to a choice of lip balms offered when in the chair and nothing else.

I am now being successfully treated by Adam Slade, who gave me a rough idea of what I would need to spend on my first visit. He suggested that as Dr Okoye had already taken extensive x-rays that I should ask her to send them to him so that he did not have to replicate them. I phoned and emailed Dr Okoye’s surgery on 6 occasions but they still did not send my x-rays to Dr Slade’s surgery. Consequently, I had to have more unnecessary and expensive x-rays taken.

I would advise anyone to avoid my mistakes and not be taken in by Dr Okoye’s big PR campaigns and television appearances. The best practitioners often prefer to stay below the radar anyway. Dr Okoye does good work but always having to wait 40 minutes or more for my appointment, the lack of co-operation about sharing my x-rays (I paid for them so legally they do belong to me), the massive expense and pointless PR (all these reviews are written by people who have just posted one review, I make no comment on this....), just really upset me. I wanted to share my disappointing experience so others do not suffer the same expensive and time-consuming fate.
