Thank you for your enquiry.

Dr Raquels advice would be to see a dermatologist who can assess the scar.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Many thanks,

Dr Fatima Ahmed

Answer: Hi Jukhar,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Steroid Injections: Can be administered into the hypertrophic or keloid scar. The raised scar tissue will become softer, flatter and whiter in colour, matching the surrounding skin. Steroid injections can improve symptoms such as itching or pain. Several sessions are usually required to produce good results.

The price starts from £165, with a £50 deposit payable upon booking.

Our first availability is next Monday.

Kind Regards,
Lauren Waugh
Senior Receptionist.

Owner Tawa Dowling

Answer: Hello Jujhar,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Keloid scars occur when the skin produces too much of a specific protein, collagen, during the healing process, resulting in a lumpy appearance. Keloid scars can form from any trauma, such as bites, scratches, or wounds.

They can be difficult to remove, but depending on size, methods such as laser or cryotherapy have been proven to be effective. Surgical removal can also work, but this includes the risk of further keloid scarring during the healing process. If the scar is small enough, a cream such as Kelo-cote can also help to reduce its size further.

I don't offer cryotherapy or laser services at my clinic, but I can recommend private dermatology services at KIMS hospital in Maidstone or at the Spire Alexandra hospital in Walderslade.

Hope you found this helpful.

Warm regards

Nurse Tawa
