Frown lines, also known as glabella lines, are the (vertical) expression lines that stretch out from the bridge of our nose towards the centre of our forehead whenever we frown. These generally become more noticeable as we age due to a slowing down in the production of collagen and elastin in our skin, and through repeated use of these facial muscles. Similarly, forehead lines are the horizontal wrinkles caused by movement of the frontalis muscle. Whenever we raise our eyebrows, these forehead furrows become more pronounced. Again, these lines may appear deeper with age, although this process can also be sped up by additional factors such as lifestyle choices and genetics.
