Dr David Eccleston is the Clinical Director of MediZen, founded in 1999 along with his wife Annie, a registered nurse. He was one of the first doctors in the country to offer cosmetic injectables, and his experience has led him to be recognised as ‘Aesthetic Doctor of the Year‘ and Tatler’s ‘Man in the Midlands‘. He has also appeared in and authored many magazine articles, and taken part in television and radio interviews on the subject of non-surgical medical aesthetics. He has featured multiple times in the UK press, namely as one of the UK’s top 10 Anti-Wrinkle Doctors in the feature; ‘Superstars of the Aesthetic World’.
Dr Eccleston is an International Key Opinion Leader in the specialty, and an International Faculty Member of the Allergan Medical Institute. His role involves managing injectable-related complications, and supporting patients who have received incorrect or substandard treatment. He is a Faculty Member of the International ACE Complications Group, and he was voted ‘Proactive Doctor of the Year‘ at the Safety In Beauty Awards. These awards champion those who go the extra mile to keep the public safe from rogue and unscrupulous practitioners, and commends “special candidates who have displayed extraordinary dedication to raising awareness and standards in the beauty, health and aesthetics field.”
David has over 25 years of experience using anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. He first developed an interest in Cosmetic Dermatology in 1993, whilst working as an NHS GP, and received personal training from worldwide experts in the field, including Professor Jean Carruthers, the Canadian doctor credited with first identifying the potential for anti-wrinkle injections as an aesthetic treatment in the late 1980s. Every practitioner at MediZen has been personally trained and mentored by Dr Eccleston, so you can be sure that whoever you see at MediZen, you will receive only the highest quality treatment.
He is the only medical practitioner in the UK to have been a lead investigator in clinical trials on the first UK licensed brands of anti-wrinkle injections, and continues to have an active research interest. He also works closely as an advisor and trainer with several major aesthetic product and equipment providers, such as Cutera Lasers, AlumierMD Medical Skincare, Allergan and Evolus.
David is in great demand as an international trainer, and has educated over 10,000 practitioners all over the world, travelling to Australia, the USA, Canada, South Africa, Europe and the Middle East, teaching and mentoring practitioners on the safe and correct use of anti-wrinkle injectables and dermal fillers, a subject about which he is extremely passionate. This led him to found his own training centre in Sutton Coldfield, ‘The MediZen Academy‘.
