Are There Aesthetic Treatments You Should Avoid in 2025?
Whilst some aesthetic treatments are set to be huge in 2025, there are also some that may seem popular, but we’d recommend avoiding…
Lemon Bottle
The fat dissolving injection Lemon Bottle blew up on TikTok last year, with over 80 million views across the social media platform. It was a clear example of how these trends can quickly escalate and spread misinformation to the masses. Thousands of unqualified practitioners are injecting this product into their patients without the required anatomy training to administer injections like this.
Lemon Bottle has no approval in the UK, no license in the UK, no short or long-term safety data and no evidence of its efficacy or safety. No reputable pharmacy in the UK will stock this product and no reputable doctor or nurse would offer this treatment to their patients. Just because thousands of people on social media claim to have had successful results, does not mean it is safe to be used.
Non Surgical BBL / Bum Filler
The demand for non-surgical BBLs continues, but very few medical professionals in the UK offer this procedure due to its high risks. This is a treatment that should only be performed in a surgical environment by someone specially trained and experienced. If qualified doctors with advanced anatomy training and years of experience won’t offer this procedure, it raises concerns. You should ask yourself how a non-medical professional would have the skillset to safely offer a non-surgical BBL.
A tragic example occurred in 2024 when Alice Webb, a 33 year-old mother of 5 underwent a non-surgical BBL procedure. It was performed by a non-medic and she later died due to complications from the treatment. Her family has since campaigned for the government to ban liquid BBL procedures so that a tragedy like this doesn’t happen to anyone else. The risk of these procedures far outweighs any benefits. We urge you to think twice before going ahead with any treatment of this nature.
Injectable Treatments Performed by Non-Medics
The UK is the only country in the world to have an unregulated aesthetics industry. This means there are no required qualifications, medical training or accreditations required to inject treatments such as
Botox and
Dermal Filler. Absolutely anyone could attend a one day course and offer injectable treatments to the public the following day. This leaves many patients vulnerable to unsafe treatments, botched results and quite often complications.
Medical professionals have years of medical experience. You should choose them for these treatments because:
- They have a vast understanding of the anatomy of the face and body and will have likely spent many years specialising in medical aesthetics. They are registered with the
- General Medical Council
- .They have insurance and are held accountable by multiple regulatory bodies.
Non-medics do not have the required anatomy training or experience to be injecting anything into another person and are not held accountable to anyone if anything goes wrong.
Many non-medics are good at what they do, especially those who have been injecting for a number of years, so you may experience good results with some practitioners.
The important thing to remember is that they do not have the tools, skillset or experience to deal with any complications should they arise.
Don’t be sucked in by cheap pricing.
You pay for training, experience and safety.
Don’t put your life at risk in order to save a few pounds.
