Answer: There are many different types of non-surgical facelifts. Technologies such as High intensity focussed ultrasound (HIFU), Radiofrequency or EMFace are all effective needle free options to consider.

Some clinics also advertise non-surgical facelifts using dermal filler and Botox injections.

If this is something you’re considering it’s best to book a consultation ideally with a skin scan to enable your therapist to fully assess your skin and understand your treatment goals.

At that point the appropriate options can be discussed.

We offer free consultations for all of our face and body treatments, you can find details in our profile - ERA Team

Answer: Hello Jean

A Nefertiti Lift with Botox is a non-surgical lower face and neck rejuvenation technique that works by relaxing specific muscles that pull the jawline and neck downward, creating a smoother, more lifted appearance.

Here’s the process and rationale:

1. Target Areas
Platysma muscle – This is a thin, sheet-like muscle that runs from the jawline down the neck. Over time, its activity can contribute to:

Neck bands or “cords”

Downward pull on the jawline

Depressor anguli oris (DAO) – Pulls down the corners of the mouth.

Occasionally, small points along the masseter’s lower border are also treated to smooth the jawline transition.

2. How Botox Works in This Context
Botox blocks nerve signals to the injected muscle, preventing contraction.

By weakening the platysma, its downward pull is reduced.

This allows the elevator muscles of the face (like the zygomaticus and others) to work without opposition, subtly lifting the jawline.

In the DAOs, relaxing them can soften a “sad mouth” appearance, which further enhances the lift.

3. Technique
Multiple micro-injections are placed in along the jawline and into vertical neck bands.

Treatment is customized to the patient’s muscle activity and desired outcome.

Typical dose: 25–50 units (Botox®, Nucevia, Azzulure or equivalent), though this varies with muscle strength and the toxin brand used.

4. Results & Longevity
Onset: Around 5–10 days.

Peak effect: 2–4 weeks.

Duration: Usually 3–4 months, but some people get closer to 5–6 months with regular treatments.

Effect: Smoother, more defined jawline, softer neck lines, and less downward drag.

5. Ideal Candidates
Mild to moderate skin laxity in the lower face and neck.

Strong platysma activity contributing to sagging.

Patients seeking subtle, natural improvement without surgery.

6. Limitations
Does not replace surgical tightening or lifting.

Works best in early signs of jowling; advanced laxity needs combined treatments (e.g., skin tightening with Ultherapy, RF microneedling, threads).

Kind regards
Dr Victoria
