If you’re considering anti-wrinkle injections, where you live could make a significant difference to what you pay. Analysis of 990 UK clinics by TreatCompare has revealed that prices for standard treatments vary widely across the country, with patients in Central London paying up to 35% more than those in the North.

Key Findings

  • The national median price for a single-area treatment is £170.
  • For three areas, the UK median rises to £270.
  • In Central London, a median single-area treatment costs £195, compared to £150 in the North.
  • For three areas, the median is £310 in Central London versus £230 in the North.
  • Across the UK, prices for the same treatment can vary by up to 2.5 times.

Why Prices Vary

Anti-wrinkle injections are relatively standardised treatments, but the cost can depend on several factors:

  • The brand of botulinum toxin used (such as Botox, Azzalure, or Bocouture)
  • Practitioner qualifications and experience
  • Clinic overheads, location, and what’s included in the price (consultation, follow-up review, or top-up treatments)

A TreatCompare spokesperson said:

“We’re seeing substantial variation in pricing for identical treatments depending on location and provider type.
While price differences can reflect factors such as overheads and practitioner experience, patients should be cautious about choosing providers based on price alone.
In a market where training requirements and regulatory standards are not always consistent, lower prices may sometimes reflect differences in practitioner experience, clinical oversight, or what is included in the treatment. Greater transparency helps patients make more informed — and safer — decisions.”

Regional Breakdown for Three Areas (Forehead, Frown Lines, Crow’s Feet)

  • Central London: £310 median (£210–£450 range)
  • Greater London: £295 median (£205–£356)
  • South (excluding London): £280 median (£200–£395)
  • Midlands: £250 median (£197–£350)
  • North: £230 median (£180–£350)

What This Means for Patients

The analysis highlights just how much location can influence treatment costs. Even within the same city, prices can differ significantly, so it pays to shop around and ask clinics exactly what’s included. Transparency in pricing helps patients make informed choices and avoid unexpected costs.
