Perfectha ®

Product Summary

Perfectha® is a highly advanced hyaluronic acid gel filler, developed to fill out wrinkles, hydrate the skin and add volume.

Perfectha Logo

Introduced to the UK in 2011, Perfectha is manufactured and distributed by the French company Laboratory ObvieLine which is a Sinclair IS Pharma company.

Generic name

Cross-linked (E-brid® technology) non-animal hyaluronic acid gel.

What does it contain?

Perfectha contains stabilised non-animal biphasic hyaluronic acid gel, with differing gel particle sizes to treat different indications. Each variant contains 20mg/ml of hyaluronic acid. For example, Perfectha Complement contains 180,000 gel particles/ml and is used to treat superficial wrinkles, while Perfectha Deep contains 8,000 gel particles/ml and is used to treat deep wrinkles and to contour the cheeks, chin and lips.

How is it made?

Obtained by fermentation of biotechnologically modified bacteria.

Perfectha uses E-brid® technology, a cross-linking process that helps to induce the formation of covalent bonds between and within hyaluronic acid particles. The final product features undetectable levels of the cross-linking agent (BDDE).

Is a skin test required before treatment?

No allergy test needed.

Is it temporary or permanent?

Hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler. Treatment results may last between four and twelve months.

Transient erythema (redness), swelling, pain, itching, discolouration or tenderness at the treatment site. Sensitivity may also increase but this should resolve spontaneously within one or two days following treatment. Swelling and tenderness around the lips may take longer to resolve as this treatment area is more sensitive.

Costs

This depends on the area treated and how much is required, and the practitioner doing the treatment, but price ranges are in the region of £100 - £150 per syringe.
