Irish Nurse Practitioner Claudia McGloin from Sligo has made history on the global stage, becoming the only Irish representative and the sole nurse invited to speak at the 24th Dubai Derma Conference, one of the world’s premier events in dermatology and aesthetics.
Typically dominated by physicians and medical specialists, the international forum drew global leaders in the field, making Claudia’s participation all the more groundbreaking. Her talk, titled “PRP: Unravelling Global Differences in Application, Regulation, and Efficacy,” explored the diverse global approaches to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy a specialty in which Claudia is widely regarded as an expert. She examined how variations in PRP preparation and regulation affect treatment outcomes worldwide.
Claudia’s presence at the conference underscores the increasingly vital role nurses play in advancing aesthetic and regenerative medicine. “It’s truly humbling to have been invited to speak on such a prestigious international platform,” she said following the event. “Representing Ireland and being the only nurse among such a distinguished group of global experts was an absolute honour.”
Her contribution not only spotlighted Ireland’s growing presence in aesthetic medicine but also emphasised the critical importance of nursing leadership in shaping the future of clinical excellence and innovation on a global scale.
