Around a month after our sector fully opened, following the Government go-ahead for aesthetic businesses to perform facial treatments, I thought it would be interesting to review the initial impacts that lockdown, alongside entering into a recessionary period, has had on the aesthetic industry.
To help me do this, I interviewed Stephen Thorns who is a director and co-founder, with his wife Marea, of Qutis Advanced Skin Clinics and has spent the last 10 years building and expanding their enterprise to three separate sites operating in Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire.
Stephen has 20 years previous experience in the corporate world, including being a Director in a FTSE100 company; as an experienced businessman and entrepreneur it was interesting to discuss his personal views on the impact of the pandemic so far for Qutis, alongside his thoughts on the aesthetic sector moving forward.
There are some interesting insights in this 30-minute interview, including one that has changed how Marea, who is a nurse prescriber and has worked in the industry for over 25 years, has unexpectedly changed her role within the clinic.
