Award-winning aesthetic practitioner Dr Nina Bal has recently added Sciton’s BBL HEROic™ to her London clinic’s treatment menu, bringing patients a faster, more effective way to rejuvenate skin. Known as the “Ferrari” of intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments, BBL HEROic™ has already earned a following among high-profile celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Lindsay Lohan, and Kim Kardashian.

What Is BBL HEROic™?

BBL HEROic™ combines BroadBand Light (BBL) technology with High-Energy Rapid Output with Intelligent Control (HEROic™). The next-generation IPL device can address a wide range of concerns in a single session, including:

  • Pigmentation and sun damage

  • Redness and rosacea

  • Fine lines and skin laxity

  • Acne and acne scarring

Unlike traditional IPL systems, BBL HEROic™ fires up to 10–11 pulses per second, significantly speeding up treatment times without compromising effectiveness.

How It Works

A handpiece delivers broad-spectrum pulsed light across the skin, targeting darker pigments and haemoglobin to gently break down pigmented cells and superficial blood vessels. Simultaneously, the treatment stimulates fibroblasts, boosting collagen and elastin production for firmer, smoother, and more radiant skin.

Intelligent Control™ technology ensures precise coverage across facial or body contours, while a sapphire cooling tip keeps sessions comfortable. Treatments typically last 30–60 minutes with minimal downtime, making it suitable for a “lunchtime tweakment.”

Results You Can Expect

Patients may notice brown spots darkening and flaking off within a few days. More noticeable improvements in skin tone and texture appear within 3–4 weeks for the face and 3–5 weeks for the body. For optimal results, three treatments spaced a month apart are recommended, with annual maintenance sessions to sustain improvements.

Who Can Benefit?

BBL HEROic™ is suitable for anyone aged 18 and over looking to improve skin tone and texture. Thanks to adjustable filters and energy control, it works on most skin types and effectively treats pigmentation, redness, acne, and rosacea.

Dr Nina Bal on BBL HEROic™

“HEROic is a fantastic addition to my clinic. It’s fast, effective, and can treat a range of skin concerns like sun damage, redness, fine lines, and acne scarring — all in a single treatment. My patients notice smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin, and the procedure is very comfortable with minimal downtime, so it fits easily into their busy lives.”
