The insights presented in this educational series article highlight the innovation and efficacy of Estar Medical's Cellenis® PRP system in advancing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. Platelets are pivotal to the success of PRP treatments due to their production of growth factors and cytokines, which stimulate tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation. Estar Medical’s device sets a new standard by enabling the recovery of over 80% of platelets from collected blood, achieving an exceptional concentration of 12.3 billion platelets in 5.2 ml of plasma, outperforming leading competitors.
This innovative system eliminates 98% of catabolic cells, while optimizing anabolic cell ratios, enhancing tissue repair and reducing inflammatory responses. Additionally, its streamlined 10-minute centrifugation process ensures sterility, simplicity, and efficiency, making it a highly convenient solution for clinicians and patients alike.
By offering superior platelet concentration and efficient preparation, Cellenis® PRP empowers healthcare professionals with a reliable and effective tool for improving therapeutic outcomes in regenerative medicine.

Platelets play a crucial role in PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment by producing over 300 substances, including growth factors and cytokines, which are tightly regulated upon release. Injecting a high concentration of platelets into an injured area accelerates the body's natural healing process.
The growth factors stimulate cell proliferation, collagen production, and the formation of new blood vessels, enhancing tissue regeneration. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory properties of platelets help reduce pain and swelling, making PRP an effective therapy for various musculoskeletal conditions.
From this insight, we can infer that a higher number of platelets in each injection increases the healing potential. A strategy is emerging to inject 10 billion platelets per treatment.
Presented here are Estar's results from Cellenis® PRP tubes, compared to competitors*.
*The competitors' data was published in the Arthrex publication – ACP Max system: cellular characterization and PRP comparison.
Number and concentration of platelets in PRP The Cellenis® PRP device enables the recovery of more than 80% of the platelets from the obtained blood volume. Using the PRP fraction from three 22-ml tubes (totalling 60 ml of whole blood), the average number of platelets obtained is 12.3 billion. These platelets are concentrated in 5.2 ml of plasma, achieving a high concentration of 2300 x 10³/μl. In Figure 1, the average concentration of platelets in PRP from 15 Estar Medical tubes is presented, while maintaining a low plasma volume for the PRP (1.5-2 ml).
In conclusion, the data presented clearly demonstrate that Cellenis® PRP tubes offer a superior solution for concentrating platelets, achieving higher platelet counts and concentrations compared to competing products. By recovering over 80% of the platelets from the collected blood volume and reaching an average of 12.3 billion platelets concentrated in just 5.2 ml of plasma, Cellenis® PRP ensures a highly effective treatment option.
An important advantage of the Cellenis® PRP device is its ability to eliminate 98% of red blood cells and neutrophils, which are considered catabolic cells, while maintaining an efficient ratio between monocytes and lymphocytes, which are considered anabolic cells. This optimal balance supports better tissue regeneration and reduces inflammatory responses.
A significant benefit of the Cellenis® PRP system is its efficient processing time, achieved through a single 10-minute centrifugation step. This streamlined process not only minimizes the risk of sterility loss but also simplifies preparation, enhancing convenience for both clinicians and patients.
