In recent years, the non-surgical cosmetic industry has witnessed substantial growth in the UK, leading to increased interest in who performs these procedures and how they ensure patient safety. Dr. Becki Nash's research focuses on the everyday experiences and expertise of cosmetic practitioners offering non-surgical cosmetic enhancements or "tweakments" in the UK.

Her study aims to answer the following questions:
- What are the professional backgrounds of cosmetic practitioners?
- Why did they enter the industry?
- How do they promote their services to consumers?
- In what ways do they maintain relationships with their clients?
- How do cosmetic practitioners perceive treatments in comparison to surgical cosmetic procedures?
To address these questions, Dr. Nash will use semi-structured interviews to gain insight into how cosmetic practitioners perform their roles in an everyday context. Her project will consider their professional backgrounds, service promotion strategies, client relationship-building, and broader discussions of the cosmetic industry, both surgical and non-surgical. This area of research has remained under-explored, with existing work often focusing on consumers or the promotion of cosmetic services.
