JCCP Approves Skin Appeal Training Academy

Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) – Announces the Skin Appeal Training Academy (SATA) Liverpool as a new Approved Education and Training Provider.

OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies.

The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) is at the forefront of the call for regulation within the aesthetic sector and has built on the previous HEE-approved framework by setting education and training standards and competency frameworks for the industry in collaboration with the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority (CPSA). The standards and competencies set down by the JCCP and the CPSA may be accessed via the JCCP website and are presented as the JCCP Competence Framework (2018). These standards are designed for use by Higher Education Institutions (Universities) and by Ofqual and SQA recognised Awarding Bodies to assist in the development of qualifications and education/training programmes in order to demonstrate alignment with the Council’s published standards.  

The JCCP is delighted to announce that formal approval has now been awarded to the Skin Appeal Training Academy (SATA) Liverpool as a new Approved Education and Training Provider for the delivery of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies which has now been added to the JCCP’s Register of Approved Qualifications. SATA is now entitled to display the JCCP charter marks in accordance with the JCCP protocol for the use of the same.

Professor David Sines CBE, Executive Chair and Registrar of the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners, said:

“In recent years we have seen a significant growth in the number and types of non-surgical cosmetic procedures. The JCCP and the CPSA have worked closely with the Government and regulatory authorities in England to achieve legally enforceable governance arrangements for the cosmetic sector.

The Government’s recently published consultation document on the licensing scheme in England is the result of our long-term work and collaboration to co-design a new sustainable system of regulation to protect members of the public. The JCCP warmly welcomes important step towards proper regulation. Nothing is more important than public protection and patient safety.”
