Communicating Sensations with the Practitioner
Open communication with the practitioner is essential before and during the treatment.
Individuals should feel comfortable expressing any sensations they experience, allowing the practitioner to adjust settings accordingly.
You should feel some heat during the treatment but you can communicate with your practitioner if this is too hot and the practitioner can stop delivering energy and continue to cool the skin with the ice-cold applicator.
Cooling Systems
Some traditional Hair Removal devices have additional cooling devices that can be used to alleviate discomfort. Soprano has this built into the applicator meaning the cooling is always being delivered to the area being treated.
Customising Treatment Settings
Each individual's pain tolerance and sensitivity may vary, which is why customisation of treatment settings is crucial.
The practitioner can adjust the Soprano device's energy levels to suit the patient's comfort level.
Keeping Anxiety in Check
Anxiety and fear can exacerbate the perception of pain during the procedure.
Practising relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or guided imagery, can help keep anxiety at bay and enhance comfort.
You should also always have a patch test prior to a full treatment which will allow you to experience the treatment in a small area, manage expectations and help reduce concerns for when you come for the full treatment.
Treating Smaller Areas First
For individuals who may still be apprehensive about discomfort, starting with smaller treatment areas can help them ease into the process.
As they become more accustomed to the sensation, they may find the experience more comfortable for larger areas.
