*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ***
Isolagen, Inc., the US parent of Isolagen Europe Ltd., has announced its intention to close its UK commercial and manufacturing operations. The reason for the proposed closure is financial and is not product or safety related. With immediate effect, no new UK customers for Isolagen® treatment will be accepted. Those currently awaiting treatment should find that everything goes ahead as planned.
For more information please visit: www.isolagen.co.uk. If you have any questions about your current treatment programme, please contact your Isolagen® practitioner.
Reported: 16th Nov 2006
Update: 17th Jan 2007
Isolagen Europe Ltd will be closing its manufacturing facility on 31st January 2007. Isolagen will no longer be offered as a product in either the UK or Europe from this date.
Update: 6th March 2007
As a result of the decision to close their UK operation, Isolagen will no longer be able to store cells currently deposited in their UK facility.
Statement from Isolagen: "However, alternative arrangements have been put in place. We have asked a third party company, Thermo Fisher Scientific to store cells for 5 years from mid February 2007. Thermo Fisher Scientific has been licensed by the Human Tissue Authority as a suitable establishment for storage of human tissue. Isolagen will pay for the storage of the cells for this period. This period is over and above the free 12 months cryogenic cell storage from the date of biopsy that we have agreed in the origianl patient consent form, and is made as a gesture of goodwill.
After the period of free storage at Thermo Fisher Scientific, patients will need to make further arrangements for the storage of their cells. They must let us know by 1 February 2012 about their arrangements. If we do not hear from them about these storage arrangements by the deadline, we will assume that they no longer need their cells and we may destroy them. Of course, they may instruct us in writing to destroy their cells in storage at any time during the 5 year period."
All Isolagen® clients should be receiving a letter detailing this proposal and the actions that they need to take, but if you have concerns or do not receive a letter direct from Isolagen Europe Ltd, please contact your original practitioner for more information. |
