Edit Does toasted skin syndrome affect all skin tones equally?

Please add the new faq details.
The underlying condition affects all skin tones, but its visibility varies. On lighter skin, the early erythema (redness) tends to be apparent at a relatively early stage. On darker skin tones, the initial redness may be considerably harder to detect, meaning the condition is often not identified until the pigmentation has progressed to a more noticeable brown or grey-brown discolouration. This can lead to later diagnosis and, in some cases, a more established presentation by the time it is recognised. Anyone who uses heat sources regularly should periodically check the skin in those areas regardless of skin tone.
