Edit Can toasted skin syndrome be mistaken for another condition?
Please add the new faq details.
Yes, and this is one reason a clinical assessment is sometimes necessary. The reticulated pattern of toasted skin syndrome can resemble livedo reticularis, a vascular condition that produces a similar net-like discolouration but has different causes and implications. It may also be confused with certain types of pigmentation disorders or early skin changes of other causes. A GP or dermatologist can differentiate between these conditions based on clinical appearance and a thorough history of heat exposure. If the diagnosis is uncertain, a skin biopsy may be recommended.
