14/07/2022 11:07 : Notes updated by DanielleLowe. Blacklisting this clinic, they were unresponsive and bad payers when we worked with them previously. In 2021, our contact John Fisher was arrested for child indecency. Copying and Pasting the news article for future reference. A COMPANY boss who spent thousands of pounds trying to wriggle out of a conviction for downloading indecent images of children has been spared jail after finally admitting his guilt. John Fisher, had denied committing the offence despite police finding pictures and videos of young girls, mainly aged between four and six, on laptops at his home. But on the day his trial was due to start, he pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. At his sentencing hearing at Bolton Crown Court Stuart Duke, defending, said: "He ought to have pleaded guilty at a much earlier stage. "He did prevaricate and spent many thousands of pounds of his own money on legal fees and expert reports when really, deep down, he knew that he would have to face up to this at some stage. "Finally, on the day of trial after he received our own expert report, he took responsibility for the first time." David Lees, prosecuting, told the court that 46-year-old Fisher first came to police attention in November 2018. Using a Skype account with the username Intel Lucy, Fisher, who is married with two children, was engaging in conversations with other men. "The conversations were indecent in nature. One of those had already been arrested and the conversation was found on that male's computer," said Mr Lees. Police were concerned and obtained a warrant to search Fisher's home in Water's Edge, Farnworth, on December 12, 2018. "Both Mr and Mrs Fisher were arrested because the police couldn't then say who was responsible" said Mr Lees, who added that, on the way to the police station Mr Fisher repeatedly stated that his wife "will never forgive me for this". Computer equipment belonging to Fisher, who runs medical equipment firm ThermaVein, was seized and on two laptops police found a total of eight of the most serious category A images, including a video, 10 images in category B and 31 which were rated in category C. Fisher had made internet searches using terms such as Lolita, 12 year old and jail bait When questioned by police Fisher denied any knowledge of the images. "He said it was either a terrible mistake or someone else must have planted them there to get him into trouble," said Mr Lees. Fisher named another person but Mr Lees said there was no evidence at all that anyone else was involved. Mr Duke told Judge Graeme Smith that Fisher is of previous good character and the conviction is a "big fall from grace" for him. He described Fisher as a hard working man whose family life has now collapsed and the future of his marriage is uncertain. He stressed that immediate imprisonment would impact his business. "People who are blameless would lose their jobs," he said. "He is deeply ashamed, as he ought to be. "The fall-out from a conviction of this nature will follow Mr Fisher for many years to come." Judge Smith sentenced Fisher to 11 months in prison, suspended for two years and ordered that he do 120 hours of unpaid work and 50 days of rehabilitation activities. He was placed on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
