Welcome to the Spring 2024 issue of the Consulting Room magazine. 
For this issue, we are focusing on wellness. I have been interested in wellness for over a decade in my personal life, but I have rarely had a chance to write about it through my work in aesthetics until recently. 
Aesthetic clinics are increasingly recognising the importance of a holistic approach that integrates treatments with lifestyle and wellness advice. As the wellness industry explodes in terms of growth globally, this trend doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon. 
Where once there was a clear divide between treatments, services and products considered to be under the category of ‘wellness’ and those that were labelled as ‘aesthetics’, the boundaries between the two are fading away, and I, for one, couldn’t be more excited about exploring the opportunities this brings. 
As part of our wellness special, we look at how you can integrate wellness into your practice (p19-21), visit the incredible 6-star longevity and aesthetics clinic that recently opened in London – Galen – (p23-24), look at the link between cortisol and weight gain as part of our CPD article (p25-28), examine the benefits of meditation on the skin (p29-30) and look at the importance of sleep (p33-36). 
Also, in this issue, we look at approaches to managing scarring (pages 45-46 and 53-54), delve into complications management (p41-43) and explore the topic of mole removal (p61-62). 
We also examine the importance of well-trained front-of-house staff (p71-72) and look at why cash flow is key (p73-74).
