Main Information
Jade Goody is considering having her breasts surgically enhanced because she feels that pregnancy and breast-feeding has caused them to sag.
Jade, who gave birth to a son, Bobby Jack, in June last year, recently hit the headlines thanks to her dramatic post-pregnancy weight-loss. Dieting and exercise has seen her size 14 figure shrink to a toned size 10.
Jade's boyfriend, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, says: ‘She wants a boob job because she thinks her chest has sagged a little bit since having Bobby. I think she looks fine, but it's nothing to do with me. I'm not a lover of plastic surgery though.’
It seems Jade, 22, is suffering the same fate as many new mums. Breasts can loose shape and volume due to breast-feeding and fluctuations in weight pre and post-pregnancy. All women go up several cup sizes during pregnancy and, as the breasts swell with milk, this causes the fibrous bands which support the breasts to break down and the skin to stretch. When the breasts then shrink back to their normal size, they settle into the stretched skin and gravity pulls them down. Putting on weight and then losing it can have the same effect.
Ron Myers, director of consultingroom.com, a website set up to provide unbiased information to clients seeking cosmetic procedures, says: ‘Unfortunately, once the skin has been stretched, there’s little you can do apart from cut away the excess skin.’
