Interestingly, 20% of these procedures were ultrasound-assisted Lipoplasty (UAL);</DIV> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>breast augmentation</STRONG> (399,440 procedures), up 4 per cent from 2006. 60.6% of these procedures used saline implants and 39.4% used silicone implants;</DIV> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>eyelid surgery</STRONG> (240,763 procedures), up 14 percent on last year; </DIV> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>abdominoplasty</STRONG> (185,335 procedures), an increase of 7 percent on 2006 figures; </DIV> <LI> <DIV>and <STRONG>breast reduction</STRONG> (153,087 procedures), a increase of 5 percent on last year. This figure may be skewed as some breast reduction procedures will be covered by health insurance policies.</DIV></LI></OL></OL></OL></OL> <UL> <LI> <DIV>The <STRONG>top five nonsurgical</STRONG> cosmetic procedures in 2007 were:</DIV></LI></UL> <P align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: 1px solid" alt="ASAPS Top 5 Non-Surgical Procedures 2007" src="https://www.consultingroom.com/Storage/Statistics/top5_nonsurg_2007.jpg"></P> <OL> <OL> <OL> <OL> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>Botox injection</STRONG> (2,775,176 procedures), down 13 percent on 2006; </DIV> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>hyaluronic acid</STRONG> (1,448,716 procedures), a decrease of 9 percent on last year's figures; </DIV> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>laser hair removal</STRONG> (1,412,657 procedures), a decrease of 4 percent on 2006; </DIV> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>microdermabrasion</STRONG> (829,658 procedures), a drop of 16 per cent compared to 2006; </DIV> <LI> <DIV>and <STRONG>IPL laser treatment</STRONG> (647,707 procedures), a new categorisation from ASAPS for the 2007 statistics.</DIV></LI></OL></OL></OL></OL> <UL> <LI> <DIV><STRONG>Women</STRONG> had <STRONG>over 10.6 million </STRONG>cosmetic <STRONG>procedures</STRONG>, <STRONG>91 percent of the total</STRONG>. </DIV></LI></UL> <UL> <LI> <DIV>The <STRONG>top five surgical procedures for women </STRONG>were: <STRONG>breast augmentation</STRONG>, <STRONG>liposuction</STRONG>, <STRONG>eyelid surgery</STRONG>, <STRONG>abdominoplasty</STRONG> and <STRONG>breast reduction</STRONG>.</DIV></LI></UL> <DIV align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: 1px solid" alt="ASAPS Top 5 Procedures for Women 2007" src="https://www.consultingroom.com/Storage/Statistics/top5_women_2007.jpg"></DIV> <UL> <LI> <DIV align=left><STRONG>Men</STRONG> had nearly <STRONG>1.1 million </STRONG>cosmetic <STRONG>procedures</STRONG>,<STRONG> 9 percent of the total</STRONG>.</DIV></LI></UL> <UL> <LI> <DIV align=left>The <STRONG>top five surgical procedures for men </STRONG>were:<STRONG> liposuction</STRONG>, <STRONG>eyelid surgery</STRONG>, <STRONG>rhinoplasty</STRONG>, <STRONG>breast reduction </STRONG>to treat enlarged male breasts, and <STRONG>hair transplantation</STRONG>.</DIV></LI></UL> <DIV align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: 1px solid" alt="ASAPS Top 5 Procedures for Men 2007" src="https://www.consultingroom.com/Storage/Statistics/top5_men_2007.jpg"></DIV> <UL> <LI> <DIV align=left><STRONG>People age 35-50 had the most procedures </STRONG>– 5.4 million and 46 percent of the total.
