Our mission is to provide the consumer with the knowledge needed to make informed choices and avoid the risks associated with receiving aesthetic treatments from untrained or underqualified practitioners.

The increasing availability of non-surgical cosmetic treatments offers exciting possibilities for enhancing confidence and appearance. However, ensuring that safety remains a top priority is essential.
Encourage members of the public to select qualified and accredited professionals for aesthetic treatments. Look for practitioners who are registered with recognised organisations like the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and hold relevant certifications/qualifications in aesthetic procedures. Many healthcare professionals can register with the JCCP to demonstrate their commitment to high standards in the industry.
Provide clear, trustworthy information about the risks of unregulated treatments and the consequences of prioritising cost over expertise. Choosing an unregulated practitioner can lead to a higher risk of complications such as infections, nerve damage, or poor aesthetic outcomes. Reports indicate a rising number of “botched” procedures performed by unregulated practitioners, highlighting the need for a standardised national system for regulation in the UK.
