<h2>The problem: menopausal dryness</h2> <p>In February 2025, a female patient presented to Dr Farzana Khan, one of the only doctors in the North of England offering bespoke treatment for women’s intimate health. Her story is one that mirrors that of many women up and down the country:</p> <blockquote> <p>“I hadn’t been intimate with my husband for over two years due to excruciating intimate pain,” she explained. “Due to menopausal dryness it used to feel like a knife inside my vagina that was being turned round and over… Doctors could only offer me creams for my symptoms which weren’t helpful and I gave up on my intimate relations.”</p> </blockquote>
