Is Chocolate Really to Blame?
The link between acne and chocolate isn’t clear-cut. While some studies suggest that certain components of chocolate may make acne worse, it’s essential to consider the type of chocolate you’re eating.
Dark chocolate, which is lower in sugar and higher in beneficial antioxidants like flavonoids, may even have some skin benefits by reducing oxidative stress, which contributes to ageing. However, these benefits are more related to skin ageing rather than acne prevention.
