Are Thread Veins Dangerous If Left Untreated?
Thread veins are in the same family as varicose veins. Varicose veins are larger, more pronounced veins that are swollen and twisted, making them bulge. Varicose veins can cause serious health problems such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms.
Thread veins, on the other hand, are smaller clusters of veins that do not bulge out of the skin and with modern thread vein removal techniques, are surprisingly easy to treat. They do not pose a threat and should not be painful, but if you are concerned that you have developed varicose veins, the NHS recommends that you speak to your GP.
