Intrinsic Ageing
As we age, our skin loses components such as collagen and elastin, which are integral to looking young. After the age of 20, a person produces about 1% less collagen per year, hastening the ageing process. This loss of collagen means that the skin becomes thinner and more fragile. Our individual, genetically determined natural ageing processes mean that the signs of ageing come to us all, just at different rates.
Extrinsic Ageing
Extrinsic ageing can be the most damaging factor to our skin. Sun, tobacco use, alcohol consumption and chronic stress are all factors that significantly impact your skin health. Many find that these can be particularly upsetting, causing the appearance of roughness, uneven tone, brown patches and deep wrinkles, leading to the loss of self-confidence and unhappiness.
However, treatments such as ENDYMED Intensif are here to help.
