Hello Interloper!

To all those who believe that any kind of cosmetic intervention is unnecessary – I ask you to consider the thoughts and feelings of those who do undergo non-surgical cosmetic procedures before you pass judgment.
We all have the right to do what we want (within reason!) to make ourselves happy. If you are lucky enough to feel comfortable in your own skin already, without feeling the need to undergo any kind of cosmetic treatment, then I am extremely pleased for you.
Unfortunately, not everyone feels so confident – some people want a little help to feel comfortable in their own skin, and I am happy to help as long as I feel that what they are asking for is realistic and appropriate for them.
In extremely rare cases, I have come across people whose desire to be ‘comfortable’ in their own skin has become an irrational compulsion – a never-ending and insatiable quest for perfection. It is these people that I would like to reach out to in this Blog: you are not alone, and there is help out there if you need it. Before undergoing any kind of cosmetic treatments, I would urge you to consult your G.P. or an impartial organization like MIND to find out what help you may be able to receive to help you to deal with your Body Confidence issues.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder and associated body image anxieties are more widespread than you might think, and there is a great deal of literature available on the web if you do want to learn more – take a look at the MIND website, for example, for some clear information and useful guidance: www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/body-dysmorphic-disorder-bdd/
Whether you are ready to face the world with your bare-faced beauty or need a little ‘confidence boost’ from cosmetic products or cosmetic procedures before you step outside, I wish you all a very happy and beautiful Summer!
